Groundworker & Fencer – Social Housing
Temp to Perm | £19.00 per hour Umbrella | £31,000 Permanent Salary
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Groundworker & Fencer to join a social housing maintenance team on a 12-week temp-to-perm basis, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position following a successful temporary period.
This is a great opportunity for a skilled Groundworker looking for long-term, stable work within an established maintenance team.
The Role
You will be responsible for carrying out a range of groundworks, flagging and fencing repairs within social housing properties, including:
- Installing, repairing and replacing paving flags
- Carrying out general flagging and paving works
- Repairing and installing fencing
- Replacing fence panels, posts and gravel boards
- Preparing ground and surfaces prior to works
- Carrying out minor groundworks and repairs
- Working within occupied and unoccupied properties
- Completing all work to a high standard
- Ensuring work is carried out safely and professionally
- Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment
- Liaising professionally with tenants and colleagues
Working Hours & Pay
- Monday – Friday
- 8:00am – 4:30pm
- £19.00 per hour Umbrella whilst temporary
- £31,000 per annum once permanent
- 12-week temp-to-perm
- Company van provided
- Fuel card provided
Training & Support
Your first two days will be dedicated to training and familiarisation. Following this, you will be paired with an experienced member of the team to learn the processes, standards and expectations of the role.
Once you're comfortable and have been shown the ropes, you'll be expected to manage your own jobs and work independently.
Requirements
- Previous professional groundworking experience
- Social housing experience essential
- Experience with flagging/paving and fencing
- Able to carry out repairs and installation works to a good standard
- Full UK driving licence – essential
- Preferably a clean driving licence with no points
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, organised and professional approach
- NVQ In any relevant building trades - Essential
